About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead the company through its next phase of growth. The CEO will set the strategic direction, drive operational excellence, and represent the organisation to stakeholders, investors, regulators, and the public.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in executive leadership within the Nigerian or broader African business landscape. They understand the regulatory environment, can navigate complex stakeholder relationships, and have a proven track record of building high-performing teams and scaling operations.

This is a role for a decisive, purpose-driven leader who can balance long-term vision with the discipline required to deliver quarterly results in a competitive market.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's strategic vision, mission, and long-term business plan.
• Lead the executive management team and drive a culture of accountability, performance, and innovation.
• Oversee all business operations, ensuring targets for revenue, profitability, and growth are met.
• Represent the company in interactions with the board of directors, investors, government agencies, and media.
• Ensure full compliance with Nigerian regulatory bodies including CAC, FIRS, SEC, and relevant industry regulators.
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners, clients, and stakeholders.
• Drive talent acquisition and retention strategies at the leadership level.
• Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and economic conditions in Nigeria and Africa to inform decision-making.

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or senior executive role.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
• Deep understanding of the Nigerian business environment, regulatory landscape, and economic dynamics.
• Proven ability to lead organisations through periods of growth, transformation, or turnaround.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibility.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Track record of building and leading high-performing, diverse teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience leading a company through fundraising, IPO preparation, or significant M&A activity.
• Established network within Nigerian government, regulatory, and business circles.
• International business exposure with an understanding of how global trends impact African markets.
• Prior board membership or advisory experience.
