Financial Analyst.

About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support our organisation in making sound financial decisions through rigorous data analysis, financial modelling, and strategic forecasting. You will play a key role in evaluating business performance, identifying growth opportunities, and providing insights that guide executive decision-making.

In this role, you will analyse revenue streams, cost structures, and market trends to develop accurate financial projections. You will prepare reports for senior management and investors, support capital allocation decisions, and contribute to the annual budgeting process.

The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, commercially aware, and comfortable presenting financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, management packs, and investor presentations.
• Conduct industry and competitor analysis to identify market trends and business opportunities.
• Support the annual budgeting and long-range planning processes across departments.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and investment opportunities using DCF, NPV, and IRR methodologies.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand financial drivers and improve cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, or corporate finance.
• Strong financial modelling skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to diverse audiences.
• Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools or ERP systems.
• Professional certification such as ACA (ICAN), ACCA, or CFA (or currently pursuing) is an advantage.

Nice to Have

• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification in finance.
• Experience in the Nigerian financial services, oil and gas, or telecoms sector.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python, R, or Power BI for financial reporting.
• Knowledge of Nigerian capital markets and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
