About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead and oversee all human resources functions within our organisation. You will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with Nigerian labour laws and company policies.

As HR Manager, you will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing guidance on workforce planning, organisational development, and culture-building initiatives. You will also manage employee relations, resolve workplace conflicts, and drive programmes that attract, develop, and retain top talent.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in HR management within the Nigerian context, strong interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of employment law and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the organisation s objectives.
  • Oversee the full recruitment cycle, from workforce planning and job advertising to interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Manage employee relations, addressing grievances, disciplinary issues, and workplace conflicts in compliance with Nigerian labour law.
  • Design and administer performance management systems, including goal setting, appraisals, and development plans.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including payroll coordination, leave management, and statutory remittances (pension, NHF, NSITF).
  • Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives to build a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with the Nigerian Labour Act, Employee Compensation Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Manage HR information systems (HRIS) and maintain accurate employee records and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification: CIPM (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria) or equivalent (SHRM, CIPD) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, including the Labour Act, Pension Reform Act, and Employee Compensation Act.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.

Nice to Have

  • Master s degree in Human Resource Management, Organisational Psychology, or MBA.
  • Experience with organisational development, change management, or culture transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of immigration and expatriate management processes in Nigeria.
  • Experience implementing HR technology solutions or transitioning from manual to digital HR processes.
